Spirituel
11 grade students’ pilgrimage
th
n order to spend a time of spirituality together
Iafter the midyear exams, the school had
organized a pilgrimage to Batroun all 11 grade
th
students. We were divided into two groups, each
on a different day.
On the morning of the 13 of February, the first
th
half was getting ready to leave the school; five
buses were waiting for us. Once ready, we began
our journey with a great ambience, ready to spend
an amazing day with our classmates and some
teachers.
After an almost 2-hour drive, we finally reached our
destination: Saint Rafqa’s tomb in Jrabta.
When we got there, a nun gave us a very warm
welcome. She then told us the story of Saint Rafqa
and the last miracle she performed, which was in November 2017.
Our next stop was the tomb of Saint Nimutallah Al-Hardini and Blessed Estephan Nehme.
It’s been 38 years since his death, but the body of Blessed Estephan Nehme is still here, it hasn’t been degraded and
we were able to see it.
Later on, we went to the Patriache Hoayek’s convent. A nun introduced his story and that’s when we realized the
important role he played in the history of our country. A few minutes later, we visited the museum where we took a
look at some of his personal belongings, such as manuscript letters or even his clothing.
Our final stop was lunch, they offered us manakish, we played some music and people started dancing everywhere,
even the teachers.
Although it was raining constantly, we still managed to have a great time while discovering nature and learning more
about spiritual values.
